É com grande felicidade que anunciamos que o pesquisador e atual presidente da Neoprego, Dr. Tiago Falótico, foi um dos três pesquisadores no mundo a receber o novo financiamento da National Geographic Society e Templeton World Charity Foundation, chamado Wildlife Inteligence Project.
Esse projeto visa financiar pesquisas que avancem o conhecimento sobre inteligência dos animais, como ela funciona e evolui. O projeto tem também como objetivo honrar a pesquisa com chimpanzés realizada pela fantástica Jane Goodall.
O projeto do Tiago é o CapCult “Cultura dos Macacos-prego”, que já vem sendo desenvolvido a cinco anos por ele e colaboradores. Com esse novo aporte, conseguiremos manter bases de pesquisa na Serra da Capivara e Ubajara por pelo menos mais cinco anos!
Essas novas informações permitirão acompanhar o desenvolvimento dos macacos e tentar entender como eles aprendem e se desenvolvem. Além disso, todo esse acompanhamento permitirá um conhecimento sobre cada macaco, nos dando uma melhor compreensão sobre o desenvolvimento deles.

It is with great happiness that we announce that the researcher and current president of Neoprego, Dr. Tiago Falótico, was one of three researchers worldwide to receive new funding from the National Geographic Society and Templeton Foundation, called Wildlife Inteligence Project.
This project aims to fund research that advances knowledge about animal intelligence, how it works and evolves. The project also aims to honor the research with chimpanzees carried out by the amazing Jane Goodall.
Tiago’s project is CapCult – Capuchin Culture, which has been developed for five years by him and his collaborators. With this new grant, we will be able to maintain research bases in Serra da Capivara and Ubajara for at least another five years!
This new data will make it possible to follow the development of monkeys and try to understand how they learn and develop, how they use tools, the differences in behavior and tools between populations, and more! Furthermore, all this monitoring will allow us to learn about each monkey, giving us a better understanding of their development.
